I installed new plugs, plug wires and cool sox. I reused the metal spark plug caps too. I think I am going to take them of because it is possible that the springs inside of them are preventing me from getting a good "snap" on the spark plugs.

Waddaya think?
anything is possible....did you check the wires at the coil ends like I suggested though?

Took the metal sleeves off. Checked the connections to the plugs and coils. Warmed the car up and went for a drive.....NO CODES

Next is the idle re learn and the Diablo tune.

Thanks to everyone. ALL of the replies were helpful.

next thing to try would be to put the metal sleeves back on and see if the problem comes back or if it was just a seating issue. glad you got it working btw

Do you think the sleeves are necessary with the cool sox?

not sure. don't the kool sox just go over the cable and not the boot? I'm sure you can run with just both if the sox dont run over the boots. if they do go over the boots than i dont see the need for the metal sleeves

I slid the sox down as close to the header flange as I could. The plug for the coils is exposed. Don't think that should pose a problem.

I don't want to put the metal sleeves back on because my hands are so bashed up from messing with them the last couple of days.
