I am getting ready to do a head swap on my 98 coupe and have bought a set of centerbolt valve covers from a forum member. I just noticed tonight that the passenger side cover only has one PCV vent nipple (pointing forward). Is that correct? I thought the others had two (one pointing forward and one pointing rearward).
Can someone shed some light on this for me? Do I have to plug someting on the PCV tubing?
Sounds like either a Z06 setup or an 04. There is only one vent pipe on the passenger side and the driver's side has a nipple instead of a location to install a grommet. Since you are doing a head swap, you can swap in the 04 valley cover and then you don't need any of the PCV hose, but on the earlier motors you have to do some grinding inside the valley. LS1howto.com shows where this needs to be done.
I have a set of 04 covers I plan to install when I do my heads next month as well.
