Default greasing/lubrication

This may seem like a dum question but I have not been able to find what I need.

I have a 2k roadster.

What are the location of the grease points?

I cannot seem to finds a chiltons/hayes manual localy at the part stors. So I dont know if they show them or not.

I have had the car for just over year and 5k miles. She has 30k on it now.

When does the trans need to be done? Rear end etc?

I have never kept any of my other vettes long enough to have to worry about this. This one I am keeping and has gone from toy to DD as it gets 23 mpg around town. Truck gets 13 if I am lucky

I want to be proactive and keep this nice and running good.

Thanx

No "grease points".

I would recommend oiling/lubing door hinges, hood hinges, headlight door hinges.

For trans/diff, read OM.

Yes, really. Tie rod ends and ball joints are all sealed and their are no u-joints used on C5s.
Glad to help.

Most cars today do not have grease points anymore.

Take a look @ your owner's manual. It will list all suggested service and intervals.

rear end needs new gear oil ... synthetic 75W90 + one bottle of GM limited slip differential additive around 100K miles
If you have the MN6 it never needs the oil changed... but many of us change it to Royal Purple Synchromax for smoother shifting.

The only Service Manuals for the C5 are the GM issued manuals. This car is WAY too sophisticated for something as simple as a Chilton manual to cover.

The GM Service Manual is ordered by model year. You can order the "set" by going to ....

http://www.gmpartshouse.com

There is info on the home page about ordering the manuals. The GM set is actually three books, each with probably 1,000 or more pages in them, and they cover almost everything you need to work on the car. About the only stuff "missing" is for the transmissions. They have there own rebuild manuals, but few of us (or even dealers) tear down transmissions, they install remanufactured units, and the service manuals cover that in detail.

You would waste your money on any Chilton or Haynes manual. They haven't been any good for at least 20 years.
