Default Trunk problem.

I'm still new to my used C5 and I have a question about my quirky trunk.

When I use the trunk button inside the car the trunk opens about an inch or so all the way around. I can easily get my hand in there and lift it up.

When I use the fob the trunk lid barely opens. It's a little frustrating. I thought it might be the battery in the fob. It turns out the battery reads a perfect 3 volts on my meter. It doesn't appear to be bad at all.

Has anyone else had this problem?

This is a nit all have encountered, coupe and conv. I have a conv and unless I open the trunk AND close the door I get about a half an inch.

here's the popular fix:

if you have a hatchback coupe, you should get 2 (one for each side and to support the heavier hatch)

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like something I need to get used to. No big deal, then.

spend the very few bucks on the trunk popper. It's terrific, takes 3 minutes to install, and I have never had another problem with my trunk lid

Trunk popper works great. The reason the inside button works better is because when you press it you are standing outside your car - with the door open. When you use the clicker, the doors are closed. The car is air tight enough to create a vacuum effect. It's a very little vacuum effect, but that's all it takes. Either way, the popper will fix all your woes.
