Hi... I am replacing the stock tunnel plate with a 3/8's aluminum plate...
Question, should I use locktite on the bolts?? I'm thinking of using the Blue ( medium ) strength... I will be installing lock washers..
Any recommendations???
BTW when I removed the stock piece the factory bolts were barely tight and I could literally back them off with my fingers!!
It probably wouldn't hurt anything to use medium LockTite.
Are you going to re-use the stock bolts?
I re-used mine and they were just barely long enough.
Rick
I always use locktite on just about everything. Comes from working on Harley's. It's just a bit of extra insurance that the nuts/bolts won't come loose.
I wouldn't, I didn't on mine and it was tight next time removed. Factory doesn't use it either. There are quite a few bolts, so removal next time with loctite will be fun.

From CCA's web page....
Tighten all tunnel plate bolts to 86 inch/pounds of ( that is jus tover 7 ft-lbs) torque, or 1/2 turn past snug. (Do not over tighten, you will strip these bolts.) In this case, extra tight does not add to product performance.
