Ride was getting bad on my 2000 with F45.
I removed the shocks and replaced with C6/Z06 shocks for around $200 (all 4) and am very pleased.
The orig. shocks were toast and I couldnt justify the cost of exact replacement.
This really sounds like the way to go. Were the C6 shocks also adjustable, or are they just standard shocks?
Does anyone else have other any feedback after they changed to C6 shocks?

Hey, thanks so much for the feedback. Up to this point I thought the dealer was A Okay. Guess I've learned they are no better than the rest. . In spite of the service from dealers like this, I still love my Vette (no way they can change that).

I just got my car a week ago, I can't tell the difference yet...any tricks to test for: TOUR,SPORT & PERF ? (assuming its working !)
You have the F45 option in a 1998. It is a different system from the F55 system discussed above.
If you want to know if your F45 is working there are 2 things you should do .......
1) Read your Owner's Manual to understand how the system works. At some speeds there is no difference in the shock settings regardless of the selected mode.
2) Check the car to see if any DTC are set. Go here if you don't know how to display DTC data on the DIC.
Great thread, Guys....now how about this question. I am considering a Vette with the selective ride option. Typically, I think and analyze things too much. So, my question is this. Is the life expectancy of these shocks different than standard gas filled? Has this system proven to be durable?
Thanks for any thoughts.
I believe they were engineered to go at least 100k miles. They are very expensive to replace, so they were designed to last.
