Default Headers - untuned

Well I have headers on my car with no tune for about 4 months now. I have been noticing quite a bit of heat on the drivers side, in particular today to the point of being slightly painful. (If it means anything at all I noticed the extreme heat right after the oil was changed (like an hour after)

I popped the hood to have a look at them and noticed the drivers side looks very dark and discolored compared to the passanger side. Nothing around them looks odd/burnt/discolored. The plug wires which are like 1/2" from them look fine.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Any codes, if so post them here. In my my mind, if the headers on one bank are running hotter than the other, my first thought would be that side is running lean. I would expect the car to throw some codes if this was the case.

I throw o2 codes constantly p4020 and p4030 if I recall. I was told that would happen until I had her tuned. (they usually both come on at once but sometimes one or the other)

I've had a left door control module code once or twice but it never came back.

Those are the only codes I've had.

Thanks,
Chris

Those codes are for rear O2s which you no longer have, a tuner will turn those off. Not sure what is going on with your car, but I would suggest you find a good tuner/installer to sort it out.

I planned on finally getting her tuned next month (was waiting on getting a CAI and my Bullets back on)

That heat issue I mentioned yesterday hasn't returned. I almost wonder if they spilled something on them? Though I can find no evidence of fire on anything around the header and it's on the opposite side from where you add the oil.

Ah well here's to hoping she is ok and holds out till next month!
