I recently had my 98 coupe in for electrical problems, they put in a new alternator, which ended up not being the problem. Through checking out the lines and doing diagnostics they found it was the line going from the alternator to the the starter. Fixed it, all was well until the next day. It is now chuging when i push on the gas and the check engine light came on. Im getting the codes P0101C, P0137C, P0151C, P0157C - all dealing with Heated Oxygen sensor circuit low voltage bank 1,2 sensor 1,2 etc. What do these mean and is it possible that the mechanic caused this?
My car was just throwing o2 codes I found out I had a bad fuse for the o2 sensor I have a 2000 vert It was fuse # 15 in the fuse block at the battery. It takes a 15 amp mini fuse check that first.
Ive checked the fuse, its fine. Had it back to the mechanic and he went over the lines, checked the codes, checked fuel pump (said its at 55). The mechanic says things are reading screwy, saying my car is a hot road with most likely hollowed out cats. It has a kooks cross pipe but I dont know if its hollowed out or not. He wont go any further with it and said to take it elseware. Where do I go from here?

First you need to fill out your profile .....
Second you need to give us enough information to even START to look at your problem .... did you just recently buy this car (gee ... I'm guessing .... ) what modifications are installed on it .... ?????
You need to post where you are located for someone to help answer the question "where do I go from here ???"
Have you done work on the car recently ... and what was it .... sometimes when you work on a part ... you disturb other parts .... have you worked on the car ????
The fact a mechanic refuses to work on your car because it is a "hot rod" says it is heavily modified ......

Good freakin' luck ....
First off, my profile is filled out, was a year ago. Not sure why it wouldnt show up for you. But here is the info : Ive had this car a year, purchased it from DrValidus on the forums. I've done nothing to it since I got it. It came with kooks headers and cross pipe, borla stinger exaust, blackwing air intake. I live in Las Vegas. As I said in my original post I brought it to the mechanic last week due to electrical problems (charge system fault and all the things that go with that) and now I am having problems with 02 sensors codes P0131C, P0137C, P0151C, and P1571C
I may be wrong, but I thought that the original alternators were no longer available, and that the replacements when installed fell out of parameters within the PCM for charging. What alternator did he install, do you know? Do a search here on alternator replacement and see what turns up, but I think it may be an issue with the replacement alternator and some other parameters that may need to be reset as the newer alternators have some incompatibilities with the older earlier C5's.

The mechanic had installed a Delco ($600.00) for my year 98. But that turned out not to be the problem.
Just talked to DrValidus and the kook cross pipe does have cats and proper sensors in them.

Those codes indicate that the all 4 of the Heated O2 sensors (H02S)are reporting either over lean conditions, or just showing zero voltage ...
If you have no reason to believe the engine is running lean then it sounds like the HO2S are either not getting power (fuse blown/bad ground) or they are disconnected.
It seems odd that all four would "disconnect" at the same time .... I'd suspect Fuse 15 in the Under-hood Fuse Block. Even if the fuse (15 Amp) looks good ... I'd replace it to be sure. Next, I'd look at the grounding for the HO2S .... ground point G105.
G105 is located on the lower LEFT side of the engine block ... it is almost directly behind the HO2S in the exhaust manifold (Bank 1 Sensor 1). This is one of the few places where a ground point is not on the frame, and it has a bolt that holds the grounded wires to it .... I'b be suspicious the bolt backed out.
Also, sorry .... don't know why I couldn't see your profile before ... I can now ....
I've checked fuse #15, it was fine. Thanks those that responded, I may just need to find a shop that works on modified corvettes and knows what they are doing, because this other shop sure didn't.

Check the GROUND .... for all 4 to be out ... if it ain't the fuse, it's the ground .... see my post #8 above ....
