Default lowering a c5

I put BPP lowering kit on the rear of my C5, looks great. When I tried to do the front, I did exactly what the instuctions said...turned them
counter-clock wise until they bottomed out......I used a ratchet wrench and could go no more. The rear has about 2inch spacing betwwen the wheels/wheel weel and the front 3-1/2. What am i doing wrong???

The front end does not lower as much as the rear for the same amount of adjuster bolt movement. Turning the front bolts counter clockwise from the top is the right way to go. Did you jack up the front leaf spring a little to remove the pressure from the rubber contact bushing? Previous posters have stated that they had a lot of difficulty turning the bolts, so you might still have some travel left. The easiest way to jack the transverse spring is with a bottle jack and a 1 1/2 inch cube of wood to protect the fiberglass spring. Once the compression on the bushing is removed, the adjusting bolts can be turned by hand. If you've bottomed the adjusting bolt and want to go lower, the 2 choices left are cutting the bushings or removing the bolt. Some guys have cut their bushings in place with a hacksaw blade which is pretty difficult because of access. I cut mine by removing the adjusting bolts as I was able to make a nicer cut, leaving the last center rubber pad intact to contact the spring. On my Z51, I figure I moved the bolt 3/4" and cut 1/2" off the bushings, which lowered the front 3/4". This is as low as I want to go as the air dam scrapes on driveay dips. Anyone removing the adjusting bolts completely needs to figure a way to put a rubber pad between the spring and the lower control arm. :yesnod:

You must have a 2000-02 Z51  You will have to cut or remove the bushings to get it low. I removed mine

Before you make final adjustments I suggest you drive the car a few times, in order for everything to settle. Made some difference for me!
After I originally lowered my car all measurments were the same. After some driving I had to make additional adjustment to the back.
Good Luck!

I told you I'd e-mail you this but I thought it might help others too. You can follow the directions in the tech tips (How to lower the front of your Z06...) but if your like me you won't be able to get the lower a-arm bolt loose. I talked to CMilVette and he suggested I that I do as the above listed instructions stated except for the part about dropping the lower a-arm instead I found it much easier to unbolt the top a-arm and swing the whole assembly down. Some suggested jacking up on the brake and I tried it but I still couldn't get it to budge. Instead I unbolted the bolts with the red arrows pointing at them (pictured below) and jacked up on the spring with a piece of wood on top of the jack. If you have anymore questions e-mail me.
