Is anyone with the stock C5 wheels having any luck finding R compound tires that will fit for auto-x use? I checked with the Tire Rack today and they have nothing available.
I think Tire Rack has BFGR1's for the front and R1A's for the back.
They don't recommend the R1A's for street cars, but since nobody is making anything else for C5 sizes, I went with the R1A's. The Tire Rack suggests I run a little more air pressure in the R1A's
You might try the for sale section, that's were I got a set once.
I am using Hoosier A3S03 in 245/40ZR17 (front) and 275/35ZR18 (rear). Tire Rack has them for $200 & $237. They are shorter than the stock sizes which is equivalent to lowering the car just over a half inch for the track. This works out very well. The stock front tires are 25.6 inchs while the front Hoosiers are 24.5 inches. The stock rear tires are 26.7 inches and the rear Hoosiers are 25.3
Or you can buy a set of repo ZR-1 wheels/Apillar and run 17" Kuhmos, this is the set up I use and it works great to Auto X but will place you in a higher class because of the 11" wide rear wheel. Cheapest reposes where from Discount Tire somthing like $209ea
