Default problems after replacing battery

My battery died and I replaced it the next day but it sat over night with no battery connected. Then I could not restart the engine... It turns over, seems to start for a second then stops....I checked the ipc codes and got......

10 PCM P1631 HC theft deterrent system password incorrect -c
A6 (or AC) SCM B2860 HC I have not found this code listed on the web?

Is there a problem with the Theft deterrent system?????
Did I short something by replacing the battery????
Can I reset something????
Radio and other electrical item seems to work fine....
Hope I dont have to take it to the dealer.....

Thanks P.S. Wish I found this Forum awhile ago.....very active

Welcome to the forum; too bad you had to start with a problem. It sounds like the computer thinks you are trying to steal the car and is shutting things down. Did you have trouble hooking up the new battery; i.e., several connects and disconnects? Try it again, and then page C4C5 Specialist to see if he can help. Good luck, wish I could offer more suggestions. :) There is also a http://www.C5-C5_tech.com (or something like that) forum which might be able to help.

I'm sorry I cannot help either, but when you figure it out please post your findings. This is not a situation I would want to find myself in.

I have no idea as to what the problem could be. Let us know what it turns out to be. Good luck.

Hopefully your batter did not leak, as it sits right above the pcm. I'm sure you would have noticed.

Did you try locking and unlocking your doors with your fob? Give it a try FWIW!

look for acid and damage under the battery to indicate a problem.

Thanks Carpe dm!!!!!! Your the man!!!!!
Something as simple as "try it again" worked....
When I was connecting the negitive cable I did fumble a little bit and the hood light flickered and I heard the car make few clicks.....
All I did was disconnect the negative and let it set a couple of minutes and reconnected it.
Also the original battery did leak acid from the positive connector end.

Didnt seem to leak enough to hurt the pcm.....At least nothing happen yet.
Also the FOB worked fine when I had the problem.

My friend who is an electical engineer at Ford said that GM was going to stop the passive function on the FOB. I liked this option.
Anybody know for sure??

Thanks for the suggestions everyone
