Default Ambient Sensor Missing!

I've always had the code B2647 showing. Today I decided to fix it. Well! to my surprise when I took off the grill to check the sensor wire(thought maybe i be lucky and the wire would be loose) low and behold NO Sensor! I guess the entire sensor fell down somewhere into the dash. Oh well. Looks as if I'm going to keep this code for awhile

It must still be disconnected or you wouldn't get a code. It would just measure the temp wherever it is in the dash. I'd look for the connector, but that's just me.

Okay. help here is definitely needed. Where would I start? Do I need to remove panels, I guess so..dumb question. I'm not really into taking my dash apart for a sensor that I was told is for the 'twilight feature" that I never use.

We may be talking about two different sensors here. I was referring to the temp sensor behind the small grill by the ignition key. Are you talking about the light sensor on top of the dash? If so, I wouldn't go chasing that one. I have twilight sentinel turned off anyway. Your car may not have come equipped with that option, I don't know. Either way, I don't use mine.

Yes, it's the one on the top of dash. I have that option. When I first got the car I used it,but you need to leave the lid open for it to work and I don't like that. So I haven't used it in 2+yrs. I just was shocked to not see it when i took the grill off!
