Put the car in storage that has no electric. Didnt run the car for a week and the battery died.
Since I live in upstate NY I wont be using the car in the winter. What should I do to eliminate the battery dying problem.
Again the storage unit has no electricity.
Thanks for any help

Since I live in Austin, Texas, I don't even understand the concept of cold weather storage. From what I have read on this forum I suggest you pull the battery and keep it on a small charger until you are ready to take the car out of storage. Mine was in forced storage for about a month waiting on the new engine to be built and I had the dealer add a new battery at the same time.
The cold weather people will respond with tips on how to keep the battery up
Carm, mine is in storage as well. I do as Dick suggests and that is I remove the battery and leave it on a trickle charge till I am ready to use it. Having said this, there is nothing healthier for a battery than to run it, hence, I just purchased an Optima battery for my '98.
The owners manual tells you to disconnect if the car won't be run for 25 days. I plan to pull it and put on the Battery Tender Plus over the winter. However, there is another thread going on right now about someone who pulled his battery and now the car won't run. So I want to find out what caused that problem prior to pulling mine. Hopefully, he did something wrong.
crspy: Put it on a Battery Tender, whether you leave it in or take it out. If it is an OEM (Delco) battery, I especially wouldn't let it run down over winter as they then seldom take a full charge.
