1 month ago I ordered a ported throttle body from Katech. Now these guys are the folks that build engines for the C5R GUYS. You would think they would be on the ball, not so. After many calls, me to them and them to me telling me it was being shipped tomorrow, tomorrow never came. After seeing the Demon is doing the same thing cheaper, I decided to call again to see where the missing throttle body is. After being on hold for a while, I was told : I think they went out" I held on again, when CHRISS eventually came back to the phone, he said,” They are going out tomorrow" Where have I heard that before. I told him to stick it where the sun don’t shine and said that demon sold them cheaper. He suggested I buy one from them. Wouldn't we all love this young man working for us? He tells people to buy one from the competition???????? You may build great engines Katech, but your customer service, and service in general stinks. Demon, expect a call!!!!!
Peach,
I am WITH you...........MAN there is ALMOST nothing I hate worse than a damn company that has so much business they can afford to treat someone like S*(*................
Being in sales myself for 25 years........and having to WORK for every 1 you get.............this nonchalant attitude sucks............IF I were the owner, I would fire whomever told you that, and the owner/s.......need to start turning business DOWN.....if they cannot deliver in a timely manner.........lies, and :bs , are the quickest way to bankruptcy I know of.........
See, just from this 1 post, they have lost 2 customers............how many more??......... :seeya
Re: **** poor customer service at Katech. (NoMercy)
I'm curious, how big is KATECH and do most owners go to them for?
Also, did you ask to perhaps speak with upper level management about it? Just curious.

No I did not ask to speak to anyone higher, I will put that in writing to them. Im sure whoever owns the company would want to hear how employees tell you to use other companys.
i imagine katech is loyeal to GM first and other customers second. ANy work or R&D is first done for GM and C%-R work, which isnt much use to an avearge guy wanted to do engine work or mods.

I agree with what you say, but why bother to have parts for sale on your site and e-mail you with offers?????

contact either warren frieze or fritz kyle as they are the owners of katech. i have done bussiness with them for 30 years and never had a problem. they have been a great help when i was doing some off the wall engine work. :chevy

and when the GM contracts thin-out or dry up completely, then they will have to rely on income from their "other customers" ... the ones they chased away .
DOH!
Re: **** poor customer service at Katech. (Mike Mercury)
I definitely would never bother to business with a place like that. When is it going to sink in to places like that - without "service" they have nothing else to bring a customer in? Anyone can "sell" parts, match prices, etc. but not everyone can have good "service".
When I used to work in sales/retail, all we had to differeniate ourselves from the competition was "service" We had loyal customers who wouldn't shop anywhere else. That use to bother the hell out of the competition. They could never figure out that you treat the customer like gold and the most important person you ever met (because they are, who pays for your check?). Give 'em what they want When they want it and they will keep coming back!
...not to start a flame, but let me get this straight:
The guy tells you that the part will be shipped tomorrow (probably because his boss told him to say that) and your response is "Stick it up your ****!"
and "I'm going to order it from Demon."
It doesn't surprise me that he would tell you to go buy it from there, considering your outburst.
Granted, they were wrongto keep giving you excuses, but......
FWIW, I've worked with Chris a lot and he's always been pretty good. Has helped with details in depth that weren't required for the sale. Sorry you had a bad time of it.
NICE car! Is that a Spectre hood? If not, what kinda hood is that? Nice wheels too... Just an FYI that that isn't the usual with Chris over there. He's their LS1 specialist.

Outburst, are you joking. This kid rang me personally 3 times to tell me it was in and it was going out tomorrow. Well tomorrow still has not arrived, it was only when I decided to call again, that he realized it still had not gone out. No offer of free shipping, no apology, just the same old, it’s going out tomorrow.
Just how long do you wait??????? Maybe I did slip through the net for whatever reason, but no offers to put it right. Customer service is a dying art here. No one cares enough.
