Default MAF on a 99...

I have done a search and am looking for any additional info. - I was starting to put a Blackwing on my 99 when I get to the MAF the instructions talk about the grey key that is released by pushing down on the middle of the top of the electrical connection. I must admit I'm not getting this. Any clearer way of stating the instructions would be appreciated.

And no, I'm not a great mechanic!

Be kind and thnx!

Theres a small plastic KEY that prevents critical electrical connections from coming loose. The plastic key (they can be white, green or grey) prevents the connector release from being pressed. If there is a key in the connector, you have to remove the key before you can remove the connector. A prime exampe is the MAF and the throttle body motor electrical connector. The one for the MAF is WHITE and the one for the Throttle Body is green.

Default Thanks Bill!

I have been trying ( gently) to pry loose what seemed to be a grey key, when the white one is the key! (or answer so to speak)

Thanks again for the heads up.
