I just wanted to post here a note of gratitude that I sent to their parts department. These guys really go the extra mile:
"Dear Bob and Tom,
Let me just tell you guys something, and you hear real clear me on this. It is folks like you who put the pleasure in life. Here I asked you for a bunch of dinky mess that I am sure was a real pain in the neck to find and likely generated a loss rather than a profit for you, and you went and found it, found the right mess to boot, and got it to me. I mean, you go to the standard GM parts droid with a request for that sort of stuff, and he either looks at you like you just beamed down from Uranus or he drools on his computer until the poor son shorts out. Last I heard, there is a recession going on, with people looking for work and grateful for good jobs, so it is not what you would call entirely self-evident why GM is not interested in doing better than that. GM ought to hire you folks to show them how to build repeat business. At a minimum they should give each of you a new 'Vette every year!
It is this sort of relationship that puts the real pleasure in the Corvette ownership experience. Are you listening GM?
Thank you again. You guys are a totally class act."
I have to agree! I wish just ONE of the 3 Chev dealerships around where I live were as good as these guys! Also, my local dealers can't/won't come close to Fichtner's prices.
Someone at General Motors needs to come have a look. THIS is how to run a dealership.
You know it probably doesn't cost any more do the the job right the first time. Though my 99 has been bug free (except for having TSB's fixed) my dealer has been straight with me. But when you hear all those horror stories out there about poor dealer service I figure I'm in the minority - and should consider myself lucky.
