I vote TSP 5.3's.. Flow the same as the TSP LS6 and will bump your compression to almost 11/1 for a better torque curve...

If you are staying N/A, then I would go with the 5.3's for the added compression

PP(PATRIOT HEADS) make good heads as well. They have LS6 heads with 59cc combustion chambers.. Either are a good choice..

the 5.3s are semi street heads, they are BUDGET heads for the Budget person. And for performance heads that will be long term reliable?

some PP 243 heads are really not that expesive and would better suit the car and performance.

I also run a 224/224 581/581 112 on 243 heads

Part of it is the 5.3s and performance wise have not been out that long. I know the price is great, but some times you get what you pay for.

243's are proven and give you room to grow. Not to mention you can mill them to 59cc for more compression or do like I'm doing and run a .040 Cometic gasket to bump compression slightly.

The 243s and the 5.3's are the same exact price.

Just seems over whelming that everying has been saying 5.3 for the increase in tq.

Damn now im confused again lol it took me so long to pick a game i can see heads is going to be the same deal

The drag race guys with LS1s love the 5.3s. But they are not getting any more real power then they already have.

PP 243s with light wt sodium filled valves and great springs( I have comp 981) there are better springs now, 224/224 518/581 112 plus other things, and have great power, just over 400 to the ground

YES the smaller runner will provided higher air velocity which should mean more torque with the right cam. But for the same price? 243s

Ask them what they mean by "Street Performance" ?

also ask them what the differences are besides the price?
