hey 65ggvert it happened a couple of times today but now its fine ?? ?
Man, that is going to be tough to pin down if it comes and goes. How did it look around the passenger footwell? Damp or corroded? Did it happen during any certain sequence of events? WOT, idle, anything unusual after it disappeared? Any codes that would explain what happened?
I had that happen once, very common. Check the wires in the accordian tube for one to be exposed like in the picture below. If you just grab the tube and at least shake it, all those problems will go away. The fix is to get in there and either tape the exposed wire or paint it with some liquid electrical tape, which is what I did.
Fortunately I had read Bill's thread when the dreaded A/C drain leaked in my car 2 sumers ago. I knew immediately what it was and was able to dry everything out without any lasting effects.
There's no real secret to getting the tube off... it's a PITA, be prepared for some scrapes on your arm, and make sure the engine is cool!
Sounds exactly like a wet Body Control Module (BCM) If the problem persist, the BCM can get corroded and you will have ghost problems even when its dry. Ask me how I know!
Fix the leak, remove and dry out the carpet, dry the BCM. You should be good to go. Remember to clear all of those old codes!
Here is the cause of HVAC air box floods!
It lives on the passengers fire wall straight back from the back of the head:
If you have headers, the rubber elbow is a BITCH to and get off. Its a top only access unless you remove the headers.
