Hey guys, my radiator developed a leak and I was thinking about pulling it out and taking it down to the shop. How hard is this to do? Are there any instructions I need, or is it pretty simple? Thanks for the info!
In a nutshell: Drain and remove hoses. Need to remove intake setup and then upper radiator support. Need to remove the air dam in front of the condenser, then unplug the fans (left side plug is a pain), then remove fans by rotating and lifting out. Uncouple condenser from radiator clips and then it should come out. Its not a bad job at all. An extra set of hands for lifting is helpful but I have done it alone too.
Those fan plugs were such a pain when I pulled my radiator a couple of weeks ago that I just left the fans in the car. I removed them from the radiator (they "snapped" onto the radiator in my 2000, no fasteners). Made clearance a bit tight when removing/installing the radiator, but not too bad.
Well its time to get the work done, but I'm not sure where to start with the upper radiator support? I think im gonna have a buddy try to give me a hand with this...
yea I took mine out the other day and didn't remove the fans or air damn and an extra set of hands is very helpful, I also had the front of the car on jackstands. Goodluck
