the cost is the biggest differance, you will find posts almost everyday on this forum about fitment issues wether it's the header,sensors,cats,h/x pipe etc. of one kind or other with "ALL" of them.

The guys that spent the most defend their purchase as do the guys who did not spend as much !

I think the key words here are "after market" any way this is always a fun one. I am going to sitback and enjoy!

Don't know the specific answer to your question, but I would look at the quality of the materials used, as well as the workmanship.

Are they both made of the same high quality materials? Take into account the thickness and type of welds.

Are you comparing apples to apples? I bought Dynotech headers with hi-flow cats and the piping for around $1370 a while back when they were on sale. What are you getting with the ebay headers?

Mostly cost and some fittment issues!

The Dynatech and other name brand usually can come as a package with everything you need and Hi-Flow cats so you do not have to piece a system together.

Thanks,Matt

Sometimes brand name can help resale value a bit. Still won't recover the cost of the mods, but might help.

There are some name brands that are vette tax high. The things I would look for are whether they are SS, ceramic coated, thickness of flange at head, etc. Stainless against steel will last longer, stainless will patina after a while, coated headers will last along time and look good for years. There are a lot of options, good luck with what ever you choose. After looking at the options, I choose a set of Jet Coat's headers, cost me about $600 shipped, been on about three years, still look like new and no problems.

Didn't realize Dynatech Headers had fitment issues... Mine didn't

My SuperMaxx headers were not only very well made, they bolted right in with ZERO fitment issues whatsoever. I've never seen a Dynatech Airtube connection break, nor any other welds. These headers come with the O2 Sensor Extentions, Header gaskets & Flange Gaskets, bolts, Mid Pipe, Cats, Instructions, and absolutely everything you'll need. I don't think there's a more complete set currently sold on the market.

If you Want to buy Ebay headers and have someone hack and slash the rest of your exhaust with a plasma cutter and a welder, be my guest, but I'm very satisfied with my Dynatech headers and would buy them again if I had to...

Money well spent in my opinion.

My Dynatech experience has been extremely positive as well. Don't know anything about the EBAY headers.

All i know is there's a 27 page thread about Getting Ebay Headers to work. While I think it's awesome that folks are working to make those headers a better product, if you don't want to be involved in that potentially complicated/lengthy process, a header like LG or Dynatech is a good choice. Spendy, but the bugs have been worked out already...

As usual, it just depends on how much you really want to save. You can spend more on a prepackaged product and know everything will work and fit perfect. Or spend much less on a product and run the risk of fitment or quality issues, combined with the complexity of creating a custom mid pipe with cats, and finding your own gaskets and materials for the setup.

Different strokes for different folks. When it comes to PC's I'll build my own from scratch even if it only saves me $20. But when it comes to making a functional exhaust system, I'll leave that up to the professionals.

I was considering the ebay headers and was about to purchase them but then considered some of the issues that some forum menbers were having..i.e fitment and holed AC line. I figured it was better to pay more for the percieved quality and fitment of a name brand (ARH) and not have to deal with those potential issues. What with the ac lines burning through on two members cars because of the header pipe being so close was a potential aggravation of added cost and a reliability issue i didn't want to deal with. The time to piece together the system was another and i believe the name brands may give more power but that may be debatable.

I'd shop for headers based on primary tube dia and length, based on my engine specs and desired rpm range, and also how close to equal-length those primaries all are.

Then consider materials, construction, fit, and style/integrity of connections.

And if any pre-made systems are left to compare...price.

Funny, because I've never seen a post about a problem AR header install. The LG pro's and Dynamax also seem to be trouble free.

Essentially your going to buy cheap headers for what like a grand?..plus installation time cause they are going to be a bit** to get to fit right your going to be looking at another grand right there. When you can get full set of AR Headers with cats for 1895 installed. I got them for 1795 installed. So yeah spend the money and get the better headers, they will perform better as well.

If you want to go throught the frustration and time to make the cheap headers fit, thats cool. But for myself, even though I am not rich, I got better things to do then cut, weld, bend, curse etc.
