driving home today, shifted to 4th, and the check engine light came on...checked codes (mind you i bought this car a month ago) and there were a TON....all had an "H" next to them meaning they are old, correct? (B2593, B2588, U1160, B2282, B2286, B2284, B2283, B2285, B2287). The code "P0492" came up with an "H" and a "C". i looked in the sticky regarding the codes and cant seem to find this one....any ideas?
EDIT: imagine that...run a search and you find stuff! well it says "secondary air injection pump"....meaning WHAT? thanks
FYI the other day i washed the car and later that day, two separate times, when i would start the car, it started...then immediately died. restarted just fine...related?
My p0492 ended up being one of the check valves. GMPP replaced both under warranty. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...t=check+valves
Read this thread and you'll have a good idea what to do next. If you were to replace the valves, the intake manifold has to come off to get to the one for the pass side. If you don't have a warranty to cover it, cleaning is your best bet.
