Anyone have this issue????
All, I was driving my 02 Z06 and getting on the on ramp of the highway and brought the RPM up to 5000 and the engine started to sputter and backfire. It never used to do that before. I do have a Diablo custom tune on the car. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. NO codes are present on the DIC

Probably a cylinder misfire. The next time it happens, look at your check engine light (CEL) and see if its flashing during the issue and while the engine is still running, pull up the DTCs and see if you have a P-0300 DTC (engine mis-fire ) code
Misfires can be a simple fix like a loose or damaged spark plug wire, bad plug or as complicated as a weak or broken valve spring!
Pull up the DTCs and see what there telling you.

Something like that happened to me as well awhile back. It was a spark plug wire issue, but it turned out that one of the wires had broken inside of the insulation. Just thought it might be something else to look into that's cheaper than taking it to a shop. Good luck!

Its All Good Now
I removed each plug wire and reseated the plug into spark plug # 6 and that was was the one that was barley touching the end of the plug. Got out my handy plug wire gripper and pushed somehard and that fixed it after a very fun and happy test run... In St.Louis today it was about 75' sunny so sweet smell of pollen and burning rubber...
