Default engine stalls

Need Help My 00 C5 will start and run for about 7 miles and then the engine just dies. All electric accesories continue to work but it will not restart. After setting for about an hour and a half it restarts as if nothing is wrong. I have replaced the battery but that didn"t help.
I have not ran any codes and now can"t because it now sits at the dealer. Any ideas ???

If it's at the dealer's and you don't have access to codes .... we could make a thousand guesses .... but what would be the point ???

It was either have it towed to the dealer or leave it sitting in the middle of the Baltimore beltway in the middle of rush hour. Point is that it doesn't have to be repaired by the dealer. Just thought maybe somebody might have some ideas.

Again ... what do you think someone one or three thousand miles away can do to help you when all you can say is the car "died" .....

Could be you ran out of gas ... or your fuel pump shut down .... or your fuel filter clogged .....

Or could be your PCM failed ....

Or your BCM stopped sending a "fuel enable" signal because it suddenly decided someone was "stealing" the car ...... which put your PCM in failed/enable mode ....

Without more information .... like I said before .... there are a thousand reasons your car could shut down .... you need to decide if you want to track down the problem, or let a dealer do it, or let a third party service shop do it ..... but you are not gonna get much useful information on the forum ....

Well darn, turned out to be the crank sensor was bad. I was hoping it was just out of gas and I could get someone from 2-3 thousand miles away to bring me some O well maybe next time!

If you would have read and posted the DTC's we could have told you what it was from 326 miles away.
