Default After market Exhaust?

I'm having a problem deciding which exhaust system to buy, right now it sounds like a tug boat idling (I tried modifying the stock system with a bypass) I would like something that sounds throaty but not to overly loud. any ideas. Ron

I like the Corsa Pace Car system with X-Pipe that I have! You'll just need to listen to some and decide for yourself.

I just installed a stainless steel system from Granatelli Motorsports on Sat. So far I'm likin' it . Throaty idle , muscle car sound and fairly loud at WOT.

http://www.gmsvideos.com/video_detail.php?mId=1359

Check out the install video and drive by. 1/2 the price of some big name systems.

Default Granatelli exhaust

I also installed the Granatelli axle back exhaust last weekend. It sounds awesome and has no drone on the highway. Plus it costs only $525 + $50 shipping + $60 to pay shop to install it.

I have the GHL Motorsports cat back. It is a quality system. It has a nice throaty muscle car sound at idle. There is some mild drone at highway cruise speeds. But I rarely notice it. I doubt it's as bad as Borla which I have heard many complain about the drone.

GHL is a forum sponsor and they have a link to the left off the board.

Ever consider a Z06 Ti exhaust system. Has a throaty sound but not too crazy loud.

Z06 Titanium for a better exhaust note and nice bark under heavy throttle. No droan, lightweight and handsome.

Ron,I got mine from Granatelli Motor Sports. I spoke with Joe Granatelli,he answered most of my questions. It was fairly easy to install, I did'nt care for the band clamps but they seem to be holding up and not coming loose, I'm gonna go back and retighten everything this week end. the only thing that really bothered me was that the system was made in China . Phone # 805-486-6644 Ext 11 for Joe.

What type of music do you like?

May sound like a strange question, but music tastes and exhausts do go together. Also do you like to have a conversation with the passenger when you drive?

Most ppl are satisfied with a new muffler system, and not doing the whole exhaust.

Corsa makes some very fine muffer systems.

GHL also has a few combinations that are great. There are others as well.

No matter which mufflers you get it will be loader and deeper, ie still have a tugboat sound. but a tugboat with attitude

The Granatelli might be too loud for what you are looking for; you asked for something not overly loud. They are similar to the B&B bullets. The Z06 exhaust would be a good step up for you.

I had B&Bs and got rid of them for something more civil. I'm using an SLP powerflo. It idles nice, cruises nice (aggressive, but not loud), but it is loud when I want it to be at WOT. They feel to be about 1 step below the Bullets in terms of how loud they are.
