S.O.S. Lost all communications
Reduce power
Low Fuel
Low Tire Pressure
Service ABS
My temperature gauge was pegged to the right, my my fuel gauge said I had no fuel ( I knew both of these readings where wrong) and my radio and power windows would not work so I ran my codes and I had nothing by "lost communication" under every category. As I slowly drove home I heard a clicking noise coming from my driver's side foot well. After getting home I disconnected and reconnected my battery and all the warning signals went away but I had a ton of codes, all history. Any idea what caused this electronic melt down and should I be worried?
Thanks
Mark

Your BCM (in the [assengers foot well behind the toe board) may have gotten wet. That will cause all of those symptoms. That would be the FIRST thing that I would check.
Next, shake the rubber accordion tubes between both doors and see if the symptoms go away/
let me know how you make out

Thanks as always for all your help!!

Thanks for your input
Obviously the answer to your problem is simple .....
NEVER, EVER, wash your car again ......
Sure sounds like water got into the wiring someplace (duh ....), but hunting down these "once in a great while" intermittent issues is a PITA.
Bill already pointed you to the likely places .... only thing I can add is the following ..... don't "wash" the engine compartment (if you did or are ever thinking about it) .... and use low pressure water (direct from the tap) to clean the car ..... some high pressure nozzles can blast water into places that shouldn't get wet.
Good luck with the SWPS replacement ....

You know what is really strange, last week I was forced to go to a DIY car was and spray down the Vette with one of those high powered sprayers and I had no problems. Saturday I washed the Vette with a garden hose using low presure and my computers go haywire
I will let you know how the SWPS goes. Cobra4b is going to help me so that is reasurring.

For example, aquaholic may have suggested the real problem .... a flakey ignition switch. The rest of us are "assuming" it is water related because it happened after you washed the car ..... suppose it happened immediately after you had opened and closed the passenger door ..... would that be an any more likely cause/effect than washing the car ?????
Again, that's why intermittent problems are such a PITA .... we often assume we know the cause, when in reality it is a completely different issue ...... Hopefully this was one of those "only happens on the 3rd Thursday after a blue moon" type problems ..... you'll never see it again.
Cobra4b is gonna help out ???? Never met the dude, but from what I've seen of his posts .... you're in better hands than Allstate could ever offer ....
