Default Will a P0480 code cause a CEL?

I recently made a 250 mile trip to Charleston in my H/C vette without a hiccup. Well the next night I get a great present, the CEL comes on. I pull the codes and all are H codes but the P0480. I keep getting a couple H codes that pop back up even after I clear them. Not sure if thats normal or not but none of them have C's on the end.

I pulled the code on here to see what it meant:

P0480 FC Relay 1 Control Circuit

Now I haven't been able to trouble shoot the cause, I just want to make sure by driving the car with this problem will not damage anything. Im pretty sure its the cause of my CEL bc when I clear the codes the CEL doesn't light back up until I turn the car off and back on.

Thanks,
Matt

The P0480 means there is a wiring problem (either a short or an open circuit) for your LOW speed engine cooling fans.

You should get this resolved soon, as that DTC disables the LOW speed fan circuit. You should still have HIGH speed fans ..... but I'd not risk this ... you could overheat the engine if the HIGH speed fan circuit also goes out.

As far as codes .... don't let the "status" of H or C confuse you. Some DTC are set to H status as soon as you turn the engine off. EBCM codes do this. When you start the engine the EBCM runs its diagnostics ... if something fails the DTC will show a C status until the engine shuts off again .... when they immediately go to H.
