New C-5 owner (98). Need to know roughly how much I would expect to pay to have the black rubber boot at the rear axel on the pass. side replaced. It has a small slice in it and is leaking. Drivers side is fine. While I'm somewhat mechanicaly inclined, not so sure just from looking at the area and what needs to be removed, that I want to get into it myself.
I have a step by step manual you can borrow. You will need a new boot and clamps. I can help you if you want or you can use my lift. Only thing I don't have is the tool to tighten the clamps.

Hi Jay, Guess your real familiar with my prob. here huh? If you think this is something that I could get through with your assistance, then I'll take you up on the offer. What kind of tool is needed that you don't have? If its expensive, then maybe I could just rent one. B.T.W. Happy with the Corsa. sounds great. Also put the Vararm air intake on it a couple weeks ago. Took a little time, but great fit.
There's a usual leak in that area on many C5s. Not sure if that's it but it's in the same spot basically. I've seen labor for it anywhere from $200-400. I think I've heard with the right tools it's not that bad of a DIY job to save the bucks.

Anytime Just get the boot replacement kit which comes with the clamps and axle grease. We should be able to find a local garage with the tool to tighten the clamps.

Thanks. Think I might just give it a shot. Live near 4drush who has offered me his lift and assistance.
