I'm going to be taking my 2002 Z06 to the shop in a couple of weeks to have it lowered by 20mm and then corner balanced.
Is it best to have it realigned immediately or to wait a week or two?
I've read some posts that say it takes the car some time to settle completely but those seem to be from people who have lowered it all the way. I'm only going to lower it about 3/4 of a inch.
The shop I'm taking it to said they really don't experience much settling with the C5's unless other components are changed at the same time. They said 5 to 10 miles of driving should be enough to have it ready for the alignment.
There are a few opinions on this one. I'm of the school of this: if you're lowering on stock bolts, all the way in the front (no cutting of bushings) and leaving a thread and a half showing on the rears an alignment isn't necessary.
I'm sure others will chime in as well. You can also search this topic out here in Tech and in General too.
Id give it a few days or so, its not a bad idea to get alignment after lowering any amount especially if you havent had one done in a while.
Just hitting a good pothole or bump can mess the angles.

Immediately. too let it settle just have them roll it back and forth a few times, push the front and rear up and down a few times, then your good to go.
Remember if you are having the car corner balanced, you must be in the drivers seat or your wt in the drivers seat.
I use 200lbs of old brake rotors sitting on a garbage bag in the drivers seat
