Default Need Quick Assistance Please.

Help me not get ripped off.

My Belt looks like it is fixing to slip off the drive belt tensioner.

I also have a chirp issue.

I sprayed wd40 on the ac idler and ac tensioner pulley and it stopped chirping for a few seconds.

The stealership wants to charge me 80 bux for one pulley and 60 for another.

What do i really need to purchase? Am i correct to say the ac idler pulley is the same part used on the ac belt tensioner minus the assembly of the ac belt tensioner?

thanks for the quick replies

was told 140 in parts for ac tensioner and idler anothe 100 or so in labor.

is this bs ? I called napa and they have the idler for 18 bux

Looks like i have to replace the harmonic balancer for the second time.

Could someone refresh my memory. This is an Auto.

I recall something about adding or using a powerbond underdrive pulley.

Does this replace the harmonic balancer ?

I went with the summit udp (yes a udp replaces the factory balancer) and am quite happy with it.

Let me know if you need a hand!

Hey thanks alot

I actually pulled it from the stealership and took it to NTB and had them do it.

I ended up with oem balancer and really wish i had thought it over a minute more to wait and order the under drive balancer.

Unfortunely my chirp sound is still there and have left it again for replacing belts and possible the ac idler or ac tensioner

I recall reading recently that the C6 idler pulley will work on the C5, and the C6 is better because it has a lip on it that should help keep the belt on. I'll bet some other forum member can find the link to the posting I am referring to.
