Default Interior Water Leak

Hey all, just curious to see if anyone else has had this problem:

When it rains, I get a water leak into the passenger side of the vehicle. It's hard to locate, but it's enough to get the floor pretty good and damp (and ruin anything paper you might have down there).

Now, I've noticed that the driver's side is also starting to leak; driving in the rain, I had some droplets landing on my calf. Not sure where they originated from; they could have dripped on down from anywhere.

Anyone else have a problem with a leaky C5? Is there a history for this problem? I'm not sure how much it would cost to get it fixed; I'm afraid to even take it in.

I also have an erratic passenger side window; sometimes, it doesn't work (for weeks on end, even!). Any ideas? (I think this one is a loose wire, rather than the drive motor, since it's intermittent).

Thanks all,

-Rog

New tires this week, hopefully!

Yes, my 99 Convertible used to leak all the time. I had a body shop adjust the windows, and now it is a lot tighter. But, it does still leak just a little... they said they called Chevrolet, and they told them that ALL Corvettes leak a little; and to tell the owner to carry a towel...

My 2000 FRC leaks but now it always in the garage so I don't have that problem anymore (except when I'm out and it start raining). Chevy denies it even happens and the stealership lies about fixing it. Someone told me to have the windshield removed and replaced by a competent window repair shop and that may solve my problem. I haven't done it yet but I plan to. It just on the back burner right now.

Water leaks are quite common on C5s. GM issued a TSB on the subject.

Here is a link with more info for you.

If I were you i would pull the carpet out so that you can actually see where the water is actually entering the car. Put someone inside the car to carefully watch for the first signs of a leak. Then hose down the car in mapped out quadrants. Start low to-wards the fenders and then work your way up toward the top of the car. Make sure that you leave the hose in one area for a while because it will take the water time to infiltrate into the leak path.

I had a sticky that detailed where most cars leak;

Let us lnow how you make out.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Bill, I've thought about that; when I get the opportunity, I may do just that.
