UPDATE - added a '20 gallon' bottle from Advanced Auto to the two gal. in my tank before i filled up. within an hour, my guage was back to 'full'...guess it does work. maybe i just needed alot of gas to trigger the sensor?

reguardless, my guage works and i didn't have to pull anything.

I had the problem once. Put in one bottle of Techron and the problem has been fixed for over two years now! By the way I only used Chevron gas back then despite the fact it always cost more. Since I had the problem I now use Quick Trip. Not only is it a Top Tear fuel it also cost less.

Techron or Seafoam, you may have to use it a couple of times if things are really gummed up. You may have also have to clean the grounds, sometimes when they get corroded it affects your sensors.

clear your codes - hold 'options' press 'fuel info' 4 times - check the codes, and clear them - fuel gauge should return to normal.

Default This is what happens when good fuel sensors go bad...

A lot of people have reported that Techron has worked for them. I was not so fortunate. The culprit is deterioration of the fuel level sensors in the fuel sending unit assembly. There are two: a right one and a left one for the right and left gas tanks. Here is what it looks like when the fuel level sensor goes bad.... notice the gray/black areas.... it should look like shiny metallic,

Some people require only one of the sensors to be replaced... either left or right. In my case, I had both replaced.
