woah!!!!!!!!!!! hold on....thanks for this information. My 02's were "exposed" in my garage for over a month and a half! hmmmm might have a winner here. This is definitely news that I never heard before.....Again, thanks for the information!

My 02's were not only "exposed" they had over 72,000 miles on them. I thought that they could be used again but understanding this new information....prolly was not a good idea.

Your O2 sensor's ceramic element is exposed to air 5 minutes (at the most) after you turn off your engine ....... people store cars and start them a year later and the sensors work fine.

Now, the fact your sensors have 72,000 miles on them MAY be contributing to your problem. They get less efficient over time and mileage (which is why the PCM does the lean/rich switching - to test them) ..... so if you want to spend the money, a new set of sensors can't hurt (well, other than your wallet).

hmmmm crap! thought I was getting let onto something here.
I really don't like spending extra cash, but at the same time. I want the problem gone and my tuner is 150 miles away, so I would rather have fresh sensors when he turns some codes to "not report"

Try this .... sit down .... put aside all the arguements that have raged in this thread ...... and think about what is IMPORTANT to you.

If ..... say .... 20+ HP is more important than being "legal" ... then screw the codes .... go for all the mods you want ..... but understand that has a "cost" when the car has to be tested.

If not having to worry about passing the test is more important .... then look into a less aggressive set of mods .....

It's your car .... make it what is "right" for you.

Just remember ... no matter what you do .... you're driving a Corvette ... and there are BILLIONS of people on this planet who will never have the privelage.

The fronts are $64 from Autozone
It does show a different part number front to rear too. The fronts show to be a 4 wire heated and the rears are 2 wire non-heated. How do you get the fronts to heat up if you are using the rear O2's? You're missing 2 wires and I guess a heating element.

well just checked autozone....not sure where your info came from?

Here is what i got:

Bosch / Oxygen Sensor
Warranty - 1 YR
13111
$69.99
Application:
Sensor located after catalytic converter
Note:
O.E. type
Exact fit; two required, one per exhaust pipe/manifold; Length (sealing surface to end of connector): 50.5"

Bosch / Oxygen Sensor
Warranty - 1 YR
15703
$52.99
Application:
Sensor located before catalytic converter
Note:
O.E. type
4 wire; heated; 2 required.

I double checked as autozone did not list if the rear was 2 or 4 wire heated. Advance auto has the same sensor....its a heated 4 wire.

So now I will just have to see what is on my car before I purchase new.

My Dynatech's with cats and x-pipe were fine for about 3 weeks before they threw a code - got the rear O2's tuned out shortly after...

When I looked it up with my zip that's what it came up with at he store.
Prices are different too. Bosch site has them and the pic shows 4 wires, wonder why AZ calls them 2 wire, hmmm.
Connector is different though, I have a spare set and the fronts are flat, the rears are square.
For a $100 I'd go ahead and change yours, at least you can eliminate them as a possible problem.

They also have a 13450 rear O2 that shows 67" end to end if the 13111 is too short.

About this product:
Part Number: 13450
Weight: 0.45 lbs.
Warranty: 1 YR
Application: Sensor located after catalytic converter
Note: O.E. type
Alternate fit (Customer choice); two required one per exhaust pipe/manifold; Length (sealing surface to end of connector): 67.25"

I thought they are both 4 wire heated. The rears are supposedly higher wattage, thats why you adapt them to the front.
