Sorry Steve, but our current Pfadt shocks are also not made here in the states (though stay tuned for several exciting new shock products that are!) We designed our shocks in-house and have contracted with a private company in Japan for the bodies and springs, then they are shipped over to CA, then here to Utah. No Chinese parts for us. Then the shocks are assembled by a Utah worker with some additional USA made components. We also ship all over the world using either UPS or USPS.

With the exception of our current shock products (again stay tuned for exciting new releases on the way!) ALL of our products are designed, tested and built in Utah, using other USA made bits and pieces where it makes sense.

here are some Chinese parts http://www.fk-bearing.com/Member/main-en.html which seemed used by some in other products with the following claims.

Made and assembled in the USA, this kit is is the right solution for your control arms.
No Chinese parts for us.

oh well to each their own choice. You cannot make an informed choice without the right information. I could be wrong but it looks like a major component is Chinese bearings.

John,

I admire your efforts to hold us to a high standard, but I can't help but wonder if at some point we've offended you. We are very proud of all our products and of our support of the Corvette community.

The company that produces our bearings is FK Rod Ends in Southington, CT. Their website is www.fkrodends.com. It looks like the website you found is a Chinese company trying to benefit from copying the FK name.

I realize that Pfadt Racing takes a unique approach by designing and building products from the ground up rather than putting our label on existing product. Our shocks, sway bars, bushing kits, etc, work great for a lot of people and that's our goal.

My hat is off to your and I will eat ten pounds of crow on the bearings. Now everyone including myself can have more confidence in your set up. Great news and I hope you source as much as possible here in the USA along with every other person manufacturing in this country or selling on the forum. When products are all labeled people have a choice if it matters to them. Thanks for your labeling.
Feel good you have employed people in Southington, CT

Don't want to give China money?
Hope you don't shop at Wallmart or have a loan out.

neither never set foot in a Walmart by choice. The USA has left the Chinese people to suffer under opression of their leaders. We are to greedy to sell 1.3 billion people rather than help them be free faster.

Stock Z06 swaybars as far as ride height you can make any height you want. I had my Vette lowered on stock bolt with cut bushings and these coilovers far better in everyway. It corners like a champ and I can adjust the ride height to what ever I like. Some people complain about the stiffer ride but I don't mind it at all. I did a baseline corner balance when I installed these and came pretty close to 50/50. I'm waiting to put my new motor in then I'll dail it in.

^^FYI, the anti-roll bars have nothing to do with ride heights. It's the springs that allow you adjust your ride height.

Ck out the pfadt's, you can adjust the shock body length AND adjust the coil 'preload', correct term??

I'm not a track/suspension guru, just noting some differences

Every coilover that I have seen for the Vettes have ride height adjustments. They are also used for corner weighting the car.

Lowering with stock shocks can be big problems. A shock just doesn't like being on the bump stop.

Correct. One of our features is that the body length is adjustable. Our bodies are threaded so that you can thread the body further into the mounting cup to lower the car without touching the proper positioning of the spring.

This allows you to maintain full shock travel even at lowered ride heights. It also allows the shock to not 'top out' if you are running the car higher. It is like having a shortened body and a stock length body and being able to choose what you want by the height adjustment you make.

This feature is often overlooked because it is not obvious until you are making adjustments with the coilovers. We are retaining that feature on a new set of coilovers that will available in a couple of months. Our current offerings will still be available as well.

John,

Thanks for the offer to eat crow, but it is not necessary. We appreciate your input on these forums.

If your not planning to be a serious racer your best bet is PFADT coilovers. Gives you choices of ride height and stiffness. If you are going to be a serious racer Motron...period.
