Nope, you used to be able to buy "O2 simulators" but the EPA put that company out of business back in 2007.

You need to edit out the O2 sensors. Find a tuner. If you get sniffed, you're screwed.

You can disable them with something like EFILive. If you do it correctly all of the readyness test pass fine and you are good to go.

can i turn them off with a diablo sport predator tuner? my uncle has one that he uses on his mustang. he said i could borrow it if i want to. by the way, black zo6 is correct. summit racing equipment said they havn't sold that ghost sensor kit since 2007 when the company that made them went out of business.

Diablo ain't going to do it.

The reason they stopped selling them is because they are no longer needed with the right software.

It doesn't matter to me...

Notice that Casper is not "out of business", and that they sell many items that the EPA could make disappear if they had a clue.

I don't disagree, and it doesn't matter to me either...but they were THE manufacturer of 02 sims....and they are no longer sold because of that.

Casper's is still alive and well, yes...just succumbed to that rather large tax hit.
Tuning software was available for years before that event happened and 02 sims still sold like mad during that time.

Now, buying a tuning software suite (or having someone with it do it for you) is 'bout the only way of "beating" the test - If someone were so inclined to do such a thing that is

best way is to have a tuner turn off all the enablers related to the rear 02's---EFILIVE--HP TUNERS---LS1EDIT----

PS not sure if any handhelds can do it--Diablo-preditor etc.---

and just wait a year or two... the socialists will have that function removed from the software tuning programs as well.

What was the benefit of gutting the cats? More horsepower? Faster quarter mile times?

I just bought an 08' Pontiac and the OBDII is different. They (the dealer) can tell if you've changed tunes and put back the original to void your warantee. My Actron won;t even connect, my AutoEnginuity will but it will only do the Generic OBDII stuff till years end.

The days of fooling with this are quickly going to come to an END.

My grandfather said the same thing 22 years ago when he saw the engine on my first fuel injected car. There is always a way.

Even for an *** kickin high HP C5, there is just no need to remove the emissions equipment. Plenty of guys running 600 RWHP + all day long with cats, all sensors, AIR, etc.

I especially giggle at the guys that remove stuff from their car for a "weight savings", and the owners themselves are 100 lbs overweight.

Plenty of 10 sec Neons out there too...just 'cause it's possible doesn't necessarily make it desirable.

I guess I'm missing your point

What would be undesirable about a c5, that run's in the 10's, has a fully functioning emissions system, get's better gas mileage than an SUV, and is a driver? I remember a time when you had to strip a car down to get more horsepower and shave weight, why would you want to do it if it wasn't necessary for the same outcome?

The point is very simple, not everyone wants that.

again. Please don't waste your time trying to convince anyone who wants (or more accurately thinks) that removing the cat converters and running their Vette on public roads is the thing to do to get that last little bit of HP out (not).

I have seen a few posts where the electronics whizzes have claimed to be able to build there own O2 sims. If this info is available I would be extremely appreciative of a pm on how to do this...Thanks!!!:
