My new FAST 92 intake is hitting the firewall and I nee another ~1/8 inch of clearance to get it to fit. Any ideas? I want to get this darn car back together.

Is this a loose fitment check or after tightening in place? It will drop when you tighten it down.

Did you replace the STOCK VALVE VALLEY COVER BOLTS with the FAST 90 supplied bolts???? If not STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE STOCK BOLTS WILL NOT FIT!!!

You must use the fast 90 supplied bolts.

The bolt holes need to move rearward ~1/8 inch before so they will line up. The manifold is hitting the firewall prior to the bolts being lined up. The manifold is also ~1/8 off of the heads but I figures it was due to the gaskets. Any tricks to removing the manifold rearward if it is hitting the firewall? Do I have to lower the engine somehow? My car likes to be difficult. It better be fast after all it has put me thru. Thanks for the help.

As Bill said, I hope the valley bolts are changed. Also, the later coolant tubes are required and the front one needs to be gently bent downward to fit the intake. Other then that, mine went right in. Is there any non-GM/non-stock parts back there like the oil pressure sensor?

Car is 04 CE Z06 so no back coolant tubes. I bent the front one out of the way. I thought the intake would slide in but the firewall just wont move out of the way. I did have the drive train out for a clutch but it is back in now. I was wondering if the drivetrain shifted rearward. It all looked like it was in the correct spot. I tried to pry it forward a little without much success.

The car is at my shop on a lift. I will get some as soon as possible. If you stuck your hand on the back of your intake you have a small amount of clearance. Mine hits the firewall before the bolts line up. It hits on the top of the runner, gray part. It hits the firewall on the angled part.

So based on your description, this is where it is hitting? Are all the pins in place in the cowl? Cable, connectors, vacuum lines out of place? How about the AIR pipe that runs back there, was that removed during the clutch installation (that's the first contact point)?

Thanks for the picture. It is hitting a little further back and towards the passanger side where that runner is the widest and begins to round down. The air tube was removed. I did heads and cam also. All of those parts move freely. I am considering lowering my engine cradle a little getting it bolted on and seeing if there is enough room to raise it back in place. I just don't want it hitting the cowl every time I hit the gas. How much room do most people have in there?

The intake is a really tight fit. I had to relocate the MAP, but after that it cleared after it was tightened down. It rubbed on the runner until it was torqued down though.

I found my solution. Since it is a three piece manifold I will take it apart and just run the bottom. It will be like super porting and I will make lots of power.

Found it, here is a photo of mine prior to tightening down. You can see the interference with the cowl button, which left marks on the intake.

Thats the problem. I am going to lower the front subframe a little get it torqued on and I think it should fit then. That is if my previos solution will not work. Thanks for all the help.

If you look just above the "unplugged" plug on the back of mine, there looks to be a bracket, wonder if that sets the height of the cowl? I added an arrow to the photo.
