Best Rear End?????
Hey Guys I was thinking about putting in a different rear end for my car sooooooo
I have 2 questions
1) what is the stock rear end gear ratio?
2) what is the best setup to run with a s/c'ed c5 putting down about 450-500hp?

and i dont mean what rear end to get by who i mean what gear ratio should i get. basically i dont want to make 1sy and 2nd gear a waste. i just want to make all the gears the best with the setup i have. i have driven some cars that were s/c'ed and had gearing that wasted the 1st and 2nd gears
btw, i have a 6 speed z06 tranny

I have a 2000 M6 Coupe. No super charger.
I would say with the M12 and 3.42's you have the perfect set up for your super charger. I also semt you a PM hope it helps.

Yeah I have seen some people with the re-inforced rears
as for all,
as for my s/c i am running 10 psi on a maggie s/c
just would like a little more snap out of my car
what would be the best option since 4.10s i would think would be too much. right?

In answer to your second question, the best setup is a C6 Z06 carrier, rear crossmember, and rear lower control arms. In addition, you should have the carrier built with a Quaife differential. See pictures belowL

The next best setup is to have your C5 differential built up with a Quaife:
And, never use a MN12 trans. It's gear spacing is poor and its first gear is too low - 2.97:1.
Also, there are other quality places to have a diff built. PM me if you are interested.

well too late i have the z06 c5 (mn12?) tranny now.
so i just want to improve on what i have but not go ***** out.
this car was not meant to be a 100k monster car (even though it is adding up to be that) but more like a good looking performance machine.
so i figure since i already have these things and to get the tranny swapped back it would be more money again....
so what would be the best setup for my moderate upgraded engine to make sure nothing busts and i am always on the road (as best as i can be)
so i just want to improve on what i have but not go ***** out.
