Maybe start another thread or do some searches on the pan, its not usually refered to as a C6 pan. The engine is a LS2 in the C6 base model, and thats what they are refering to, a LS2 oil pan. Some think it has less of a problem with oil moving to one side of the pan in high speed turns, which can cause oil starvation. Others do not. The only thing IMO that is definate: it costs less, has one less gasket, and takes less oil (which may not be a good thing). None of which does you any good unless your current one is broke.
That and they dropped the C5 winged design in all the C6s, which could mean it was a mistake or not.
But, do some research and make your own choice...

I changed the starter on mine a few months back. The exhaust was a must to get mine out. I tried for almost an hour to avoid it but couldn't maneuver it. I wish I knew about the oil pan, looks like a good idea!
