Default crank pully help

I need to put a new crank pully on my car. is there anyone that has the tools in the Nor Va. area that I can barrow from? Would also be nice to have someone stand there and tell me if I'm doing something wrong. Anyone willing to help me out?

I live in CT and was able to find someone local that had the right install tools. Once I saw how he made it, I made one of my own. Remove the old damper bolt, cut the head off of the bolt. Obtain some 5/8" all thread and weld or have someone weld the all thread to the bolt. Get some nuts and washers for the and you have your self an install tool.

To get the damper OFF, I rented a 3 jaw puller from AUTO ZONE (it is basically free rental.) and removed the damper with that. NOTE! I had to heat up the damper hub to about 150 degrees get it to break loose. Once it was heated, it was easier to get off.

I was working by my self late at night so,,,,I came up with this unique way to hold the damper to remove the bolt. I used a large pipe wrench like this:

I highly recommend replacing the Old OEM damper with a POWERBOND damper and use an ARP Bolt to secure it in place. Quality vs price is outstanding!! AUTO ZONE also rents the 0-250 ft/lb torque wrench to torque the bolt in place. I used a heavy duty Strap Wrench to hold the damper still while I torque the damper bolt in place.

I also pinned my damper to the crank. I cant believe how easy it was if you have the tool to do it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Bill! Unfortunaly she's my only means on transportation so i may have to pay someone to do this for me. I was actually hoping to find someone with all the tools because I really have nothing but a few screw drivers and a few wrenches. All my stuff is still in a storage unit in Az. because I just got out of the Navy. I'm in the process of getting everything set up so I can get all my stuff delivered out here.

There are TONS of C5 people in your area. You just need to make contact with them. Make a post in "events & regional for your area with your needs "tools time and assistance" and someone should reply!

I know I would if you lived local! Thanks for serving!
