I know it's been discussed many times here, but the dang search function won't cooperate. I find the threads and click on them, then get the "No thread specified" error message. Great
Anyway, I've seen that many have had problems with the power seat adjuster motors causing a current draw that kills their batteries. I've been fighting a battery drain problem for a while and would like to know the correct method for testing current draw. I'm not sure exactly how to pinpoint that the power seat motors are the issue or not. Could someone link me to (Bill Curlee's?) thread on how to check for a current draw and/or let me know what fuse(s) they pulled to confirm or deny that their power seats were indeed the source of the drain? If I could find it with the search button, I would. THANK YOU for any help.

Unfortunately the pics wont post up if I cut and paste. It was one of Bill Curlee's awesome posts. I'm sure Bill will pass it on but I have the word doc if anyone wants it.

Well, the method of testing works, but I wasn't able to find the current draw yet. I guess at least it wasn't the seat or lumbar controls... When the BCM goes to sleep, I'm drawing 70 milliamps, not 20. Nothing I've pulled so far has changed that. I'm going to wait for a day when I can get a helper to watch for me - it's too cramped in my garage to keep this checking up any longer. The worst is when you pull and replace a fuse and it wakes up the system! Then you have to go find something else to do for a while until it shuts down again. Or you forget and close the door - duh.
Anyway, I just have a ton of fuses to go through, and I appreciate the help in tracking down the problem. For now, I'll just keep it on the trickle charger and not worry. I'll find it...
