HELP!? Big problem with TCS???
I was heading home the other night going up a sharp grade when all of a sudden the car stuttered and a "Traction Control Error", or something like that, appeared in the driver display. My check engine light also went on. The car felt like it lost power and I pulled over as soon as I could. I turned the car off, checked out the motor, and everything appeared normal. I restarted the car and the check engine light remained. But it drove normal again. The next time I started it, the check engine light when off. A buddy of mine had driven my car for the day and the same thing occured to him. I'm baffled and am at a loss of what to do now. :confused: I'm going to go through the computer and check for codes.

It may have fallen into "reduced engine power" mode, something that happens when the computer see disagreements among sensors in the electronic throttle control system. "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" will display on the DIC as well. Bearing in mind that TCS works in part in conjunction with ETC it wouldn't be surprising to see TCS error messages as well. An intermittent TCS failure followed by some run cycles without failures would cause the indicator lights to behave as you describe. If it were me I'd have it looked at since it's happened more than once. :smash:
