I was having continuos codes for various Active Handling just about everyday on my 2002 C5. I would keep the Active Handling turned off. I started my 50,000 mile service by changing both drive and AC belts last weekend and the codes stopped.
I can't see the connection. Has anyone else experienced this phenominum?
It was tripping codes C1282 and C1287. I have driven for a week and no codes. I had already pulled the two ground plugs behind the light assemblies and was working my way through all of them. This is a California car so the ground connectors were just like on those two. Getting the altenator belt on was a wrestling match to get the belt lined up on all the pulleys at one time. I figured out a short cut of removing the idler pulley and washers and using the pulley sprocket shaft as a temporary belt holder, then pull the tension off and push down on the belt with the pulley to seat the belt. It's a ten minute job now.
Anyway, that was a long story to say that, you are probably right in that I bumped something and made a better connection. That alternator belt was a struggle for a couple hours and almost a whole six pack.
