Default code P0420 & P0430

after I installed headers and cross pipe I drove about 40 miles and the check engine light W/ code 420 430 catalyst system is below threshold for the current operating conditions??? any ideas has this happened to anyone. There are no exhaust leaks Im pretty sure all the vacum lines are hooked up...

If I recall correctly the rear O2 wires do cross, as in what appears to be the driverside O2 really goes to the passenger side. Then again, this is on the fat chance that I do recall correctly. :o

Codes 420 and 430 indicate that the CATs are not working properly. Did you hook Did you replace the cats with after market ones?

You changed the location of the cats. They are now further downstream than stock. All longtube headers do this, and such, the cats don't work as efficiently. You will get some codes.

I'd suggest erasing them. You'll probably see them pop up every now and again. You can live with it, or get the codes tuned out.

Sorry, but that's just going to happen with headers.
