Default Bouncy Bouncy

Now that I have your attention. My right headlight beam bounces a little over bumps. Where are the fasteners that will snug it up?

I also wanted to raise the headlight alignment slightly, but I have read all the posts of problems doing this. My bulbs are seated correctly I have seen the long horizontal adjusting rod, but I cannot see the shorter vertical adjustment one. Anyone have pics of where it is located? I have soaked the horizontal ones with PB Blaster. I want to make sure I don't break them.

The other adjuster is very short at the top hood end of the hole in the bezel. Be careful not to turn too much as these easily seperate from the headlight bracket are real pain in the *** to fix. As for the bounce it could be several things mine was due to loose mounting bolts on the headlight assembly but there are many potential causes. Most are loose bolts. Best of luck with this. The adjusters are made of cheese and really easy to break bend or otherwise fail. Be sure which direction you need to turn and use a metric socket over the adjuster rod the torx inside the rod strip right out. You cannot get replacements from GM unless you buy the whole assembly. Junk yards are your best option should you need to replace. The headlights are really a weakness on our great car

I manually tested the housing with the headlight up, and it felt slightly loose. So I will try to tighten the fasteners I can find.

I used PB blaster to lube the adjusters before hand. They are working fine. I am just not sure I have the alignment correct. I am mostly concerned about the low beam pattern. Mine were too low and I felt uncomfortable driving the car at night. I tried to duplicate the pattern shown on the factory manual I still think I can adjust it a little better somehow.

Your are right about the C5 headlights. My 88 Fiero GT has much better headlights.
