I've had one for about 2 years? Started stock, hated the stock shifter. Tried the Kirban. Felt kinda sloppy, then went Ripper.
I had the old one with the hump & shift stops. We were troubleshooting the lower part of the stock shifter, the cradle/gate that is below the aftermarket shifter so I bought a new one so the dealer couldn't say the B&M was defective. So replaced the bottom & put a new B&M in, but the new one didn't have the hump, ala the search for a solution to hold up the boot. :) The B&M is by far the best shifter out there. It's perfect. Haven't tried the Hurst, but I see no need to.
I've had both the older style B&M and now the Newer style B&M.
Old B&M has ball bulge in the shaft to hold up the leather boot cover - the new one doesn't.
Question.. People with the New B&M. How do you have your straight shaft B&M hold up your leather boot? Mine likes to fall down the shaft a little. Anyone find nice tricks to keep the boot up snug??
What is the diameter of the B&M shaft? Anyone measure it lately? Maybe a tight rubber washer pulled upward against the boot??

I have the newer Ripper. My shift **** (Kirban ball) has a thick shaft that keeps the boot up.
