I'm in the same boat with my stock 03. Do what I'm doing. Save up a little more and throw a supercharger on it

Don't even think about a boosted car with 5 grand, as it will cost you much more in the long run. Figure 5-7 grand for the kit, then your probably going to want to upgrade springs, pushrods, timing chain, oil pump, etc etc, gauges, etc etc.

For 5 grand I would do vararam, headers, a nice head/cam package.

Headers: $1,000
Vararam: 350
PRC heads/cam and supporting mods:$2000
Tuning: 500

Total: $3850, might be able to get it installed for around 5 grand total.

We are just outside of Lubbock, Texas, and we have completed many installations for Oklahoma customers. A heads/cam package with all of the normal bolt-ons to complement (i.e. long tube headers, x-pipe, induction, etc.) will be easily done with installation for $5,000. Let me know how aggressive you would like to go with respect to camshaft, and I will be happy to make some recommendations. If you PM me your e-mail address, I will be happy to e-mail you an itemized estimate for the parts and installation and the next available installation date available.

Thanks!

Trevor

You can try swtuning. They are right in OKC. I might head that way just to save on a trip to TX. It's just a little to far when OKC is next door.

Good luck getting a D1SC installed for 5 grand. Most of the kits cost 6 grand or more, just for the kit itself. Even if you install it yourself, figure to spend another 500-750 bucks for tuning.

Good luck with it, make sure you have injectors, new pump(or boost a pump), and start saving for a new clutch because it won't last long! Let us know how you make out.

I'd like to know how all that turns out for you. A HUGE part of what a competent tuner provides is to keep you headed in the right direction.
