I watched them (BPP) install a set on someones C5. They had a bit of a problem installing them. It was the fit of the header sections. They said the last ones they put on, went on with ease. I would say it was a manufacturing error. They look really sharp, but are a bit pricey. You know, nothing against Breathless or Ernie, but a lot of their stuff is pricey. Haven't seen any dyno results yet.
Oceanaire,
I've also been looking at TTS and like them. I liked the idea
of Breathless where you do not have to remove the whole
header to do a cluch replacement. They also looked like an
easy install. I was wondering about the dificullty of installing
the TTS, since I would like to do the install myself.
When you get them (whichever set you choose) on let me know, wouldn't mind hooking up with you and checking them out. I'm only about 1/2 hour away from you. I've been thinking about putting a set on mine. If you're serious about doing it yourself, I could give you a hand if you so desire. Keep me informed. Also, think seriously about doing a dyno before and after.
Let me know what you decide. I've been checking myself, it looks like the BPP headers have some merit, not to mention and easier install. Check out there web site on them
Before you pick check out Finish Line Performance. Kit comes with long tube headers, high flow cats, off road pipes, ( cats V-clamp in off road pipes exchange) Y-pipe, and O2 sims. They will be available Feb. I talked to them today and they said first 25 sold will go for $1295.00. I have a proto type set. Install is easy. Left side from bottom, right side from top. No welding,no jacking engine up, and no starter removal. Kit goes from head to muffler flages.
12.05 best before headers
11.73 best after headers on motor
11.20 best with 150 shot before headers
10.82 best with 150 shot after headers at 3700' air correction
Aren't the FLP headers just TPIS with removable cats and off road pipes using v clamps? Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe they are a short (18") primary, just like the TPIS. that would make them a "Mid Length" header.

You might be correct. I,m not an expert on header design. I have seen the TPIS headers and there not the same. FLP did the design from the heads to the muffler flange. I liked the idea that the headers, cats or off road pipes, and the Y-pipe were designed and tested together. I wish I could have dyno tested before and after headers but the guy that had the dyno here sold it. I made three runs with g-tech before headers on motor. Car was very consistent. 12.05, 12.09, 12.10. After headers 11.73,11.79, 11.78. The tests were done just before headers were installed and one day after. Conditions were the same. All I know is 3 tenths is an excellent gain. Granted the car has head, cam, intake and the stock exhaust was holding me back more than if it were all stock. FLP told me they dynoed a stock vette and got 25hp.
The Breathless headers as well as the LG Motorsports headers were recomended to me by my tuner, but I had the TPIS and couldn't sell them in time to have to put the pipes on the car. So I'm using TPIS now.
