Does any one know if I can run my track car without a BCM?
Both my race car and my street C5 got a salt water bath over the BCMs and the fuse box in the floor.
I dont think I need the BCM for the race car but ofcourse it is throwing all kinds nasty messages on the DIC
So i am looking for 1 maybe 2 BCMs and fuse boxes also.. for a '98
For the most part, you need it if you want things to work, especially on the street car. For a race car, you would have to have it if you are running the stock PCM as the PCM needs to communicate with the BCM for the car to even start. You could replace the PCM with an aftermarket ignition system but you would also have to put in new gauges, speedo, tach and so on...
