Need help with crank pulley repl!!
I am transferring parts from my old busted LS6 to my new hotness 402 block. I have the crank pulley off. I was installing the new oil pump gear/sprocket that came with timing chain kit. There is some kind of pin that goes in a slot between the gear/sprocket and the crank, I guess to align them. There was not one in the new kit, and I do not see how to get the old one out? Does anyone know what this is called and where I can get one? I would like to get by Saturday. TIA.

Is it a pin or are you talking about the key that goes into the keyway milled in the crankshaft? If it is, you should be able to sneak a thin screwdriver under the forward edge of the key and pry it out.

That is it. I just didn't know the terminology. I will see if I can get one. I do not see how to get old one off the old crank as the snout(?)/oil pump gear doesn't seem to want to come off. Thanks very much.
