Dash lights only work sometimes

Dash lights only work sometimes
Like the title says, when I start my car at night and turn on the lights on, the dash lights only turn on sometimes. But when I turn the engine off, the dash lights turn on until I open the door. Yes I have checked the little dial to be sure they are turned on. Also sometimes when I’m driving at night, all of a sudden the dash lights come on. Any ideas?

Its time for a NEW C6! I'll come pick up the old junker any time!
Theres a post out there that details how to rebuild the "MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH" on the steering column. The contacts in that switch over heat and loose tension and get arced up. Thats what is causing your issue.
Once you read that post, it will become very clear how easy it is to do the repair and why your having that issue.
