Default DIC/IPC not working

Hi Guys,

I know I haven't been around that often lately, but the vette has an issue and I know this is the place to go to get the answers!

I have an '03 C5 and for the past couple weeks my DIC hasn't been working. I checked the fuses (19&25...and the rest of them for that matter) and they were all great. The buttons still work, because when you push them you'll hear the 'beep', but I just can't read anything on the display (such as checking mileage and codes).

Has anyone had this problem, and how can I go about fixing it?

Thanks guys!

Happy to help but, I need somemore information. Do you have heads up and does it work?

You stated that you have checked fuses 19 & 25 but have you checked the voltages at those fuses.

On top of the fuse are TWO very small metal test points. You or have someone read those test points with a meter to ground. Make sure the key is ON. There should be 12 VDC at both points. Fuse 25 is HOT always and fuse 19 is hot in RUN and Start.

You can have autozone read the DTCs if you cant read them on the DIC.. They do it for free. If you have LOTS of DTC ask them nicely if they can clear them I know that they will listen. then drive it and see what ones come back.

The voltage test will tell me a LOT.

If the voltages are fine, your most likely sufferiing from poor DELPHI circuit board quality and have a damaged or loose componet on the circuit board on the inside if the IPC. You can remove the IPC and have any compenant TV repair shop check the circuit boards for loose/damaged components.
